Another day....another battle

There are days when the army triumphs

Battles me down into the dark dungeons

In the shadowy recesses I smother my Cries to harrowing throbs entomed there.

Some days dull fear lurks in the coils

Waiting for the opportune moments

To engulf me whole like a wide mouthed Serpent, forlorn I surrender head lowered.

Dawn into the hours of the dead, the war

Descends rampant , guns blazing steadily

I lust for the scythe and the veil to comfort

This disabled soul into immortal slumber.

Then, just then, a sun breaks in shards

With a mother's kiss, an intervention, a rope

Or an eye that looks into me without masks

Wheedling me to pick up the breastplate.
