The chase invain!

I romanticize with a pencil between my teeth

I frolick on red spider lilies , like a sulphur butterfly

A carbon paper transfers your face onto my vacant wings

I don't notice crowds of silhouettes gawking at my oddity

Idealizing you is my only employment, while you take flight.

You quickly turn the corner on a hustling boulevard at a distance

Razor sharp wings aide your flight from my shadows

I shy away momentarily from your resentment perhaps

Sensing the awkwardness in my own untrained pursuit

I hesitate in severing my flimsy wings just a split second then.

Unwittingly I taste the wood splintered on my tongue

The glamourous chase fades in and out, caustic in my eyes

Did I dream up a child's fable far far away in a magical land

Just then you peek at me from the square corner like an innocent dove

Amused by this hawker's exasperation at being a sloth

Delighted I spring a new set of fliers and zoom at you flapping...a fresh stalk
