The tremors ...

Pack of cards sat as a tower on tectonic plates
Wobbling now and then to the stir
Unsteady I thought, can topple any moment
I gazed out of the glass windows that never open
Only purpose is light, not to let in air for me to breathe free,
Just to brighten those shadowy recesses.
I set a barometer on the edge of the window ledge ...
And sat there with an infinity fall at my feet
The city skyline...dense mangroves of cement and steel laid on a platter
Eyed me skeptically, daring me to take that leap...
We the living, I traveled back to,' keep your eyes parallel to the sky, the earth ..'
I couldn't, I stared at the night, at the fireballs million miles away
Couldn't be bulletproof , tooth and nail I had tried to fight them.
They got me, the thieves of my time, they caught up to me fast
I glanced at the gauge, at the tower , knowing it would soon...
Heart racing to beat its sound, I made a last attempt at saving the collapse
Before the clock chimed, before I lost sanity
It shook, the place, windows rattling, light dimming in tandem
The tremors were violent and fearsome, my hands were in vain to protect,
It disintegrated in front of my eyes...all of the world
I had built on my lashes, while I left sleep in a different land
The octopus heart ripped and ripped ..I held on, all is not lost I said...
He gave you "hope" such a beautiful thing .
